UCSB Extension Announces ChangesOn January 30, 2008, UCSB Extension announced a restructuring plan to better serve our mission of bridging the campus and the community as well as streamline operations. UCSB Extension is a self supporting unit. It does not receive any funding from the state and is entirely supported by course fees. UCSB Extension has experienced declining enrollments due, in part, to local and international economic challenges. UCSB Extension is viewing this as an opportunity to focus on our core service area. UCSB Extension, both on the UCSB campus and the Ventura Center, will continue to serve the community by offering cutting-edge, in-demand continuing education courses and programs. We look forward to this rebirth, and to slowly introducing new programs that meet the needs of the community and reflect the mission of the university. |
